CMSgt. Clyde H. Clayton, USAF Ret. Obituary

I attended Clyde's Air Force military funeral. I stood before the family and spoke to them about a great 30 year relationship with him in the Air Force Reserve with the 315th Military Airlift Wing Charleston AFB SC. Before Chief MSGT Clyde Clayton was lowered down to his final resting palace, I rendered him a final and slow salute. The end of an incredible lift and one well lived.

He touched many lives and will be missed. He may not be here physically but trust me, he is right there with all of you now and forever. We love you and your family so much. Mr. Clyde and I became fast friends when I bought the house directly across the street from him and Mrs. Eleanor. Little did I know how lucky I was to have moved there! We shared a deep love of gardening and constantly tagged the other saying "hey, come here...I wanna show you something growing in my yard!"

I was blessed to have had my friend in my life for 2 years, but whenever I look at his garden I will remember so many warm conversations that touched my soul because he is still there in my heart

My condolences to the family. He was s lovely man and I always enjoyed stopping and talking to him and his wife. He would tell me stories about when he worked with my Grandfather. He was the sweetest man ever. Sending prayers
