Condolence & Memory Journal

Greg's daughter. Aunt Pat wrote me letters for years when I was a kid. Still have them. Didn't see her and Jerry as much as we would've liked, but my memories of SC are dear to me.

Patty is my big sister. She watched over Barb and me, especially during the summers when Mom was working. As I think back, and remember some of the special times, I find myself crying and smiling at the same time. There are too many memories to put into writing... but, to mention a few: the summers spent camping at Traverse City ( usually during the Cherry Festival!), the Christmas Eves at Aunt Rox's, with cousin Linda, when I fell off of the Big slide at the park ( and Pat ran all of the way home to get Mom, and ran all the way back), when she comforted me on the dark walk home from seeing the Wizard of Oz at the park( and I was scared to death of flying monkees!), when I reached 5'10" in 8th grade ( and she was amazed that I almost filled the doorway). Or maybe, when we would line up every summer at the Cherry Hut in Holland, with the Burch kids, according to height, to get our picture taken.
There are many more, but they all helped shape the man that I am today. We had some beautiful times in South Carolina, and I love my three beautiful nieces. Thank you, brother Jerry, for giving my sister such a wonderful, fun life, full of adventure ! I'm sorry that we didn't spend a lot more time together... life gets in the way, I guess...
I will cherish the memories forever, and I will always miss my big Sis!
Love, your little brother, Gweggy

Aunt Pat, thank you for the beautiful memories when we were younger, sharing your love of South Carolina with us. Your smile and kindness are near to me.

Sending hugs, prayers, and love to you Uncle Jerry and cousins.

Pat was a wonderful and loving aunt to my daughters, and a great sister-in-law. She is greatly missed.
